Rubies are three young ladies clad in fineries, beaming beautifully with mystical symbols adorning their cheeks.
Simone Rubi (lead vocals, keyboards) entices the crowd while Terri Loewenthal (bass) keeps them dancing. Add
Amy Cooper's shimmering guitar, the harmonies of all three voices and beats provided by machine or borrowed man
and try to resist the maelstrom of moxie that is Rubies.

While it could be in a crowded avant-garde discotheque in NYC, a motorik infused warehouse in Berlin, or the
pine-needle carpeted redwoods of Big Sur, the energy of Rubies will have you floating in colored air.

Rubies have just finished recording an album. This brought them to studios in: Bergen (NO), Stockholm (SE), Casa Rincon (MX), San Francisco and Santa Barbara (US). The result is an album that sounds like travelling
to the moon and back in a shuttle filled with friends. Helping hands include: Karl-Jonas Winqvist (Blood Music,
First Floor Power), Eirik Glambek Bøe (Kings of Convenience) and his new band Kommode, Maria Eriksson (The Concretes), Leslie Feist, Dan Judd (Sorcerer, Call and Response), and a small army of other talented friends.

Rubies have plans to release their new album “Explode from the Center” on Rallye in Japan in October. A single
will be coming out in September on Telle Records (Norway) and another single later in the year with a remix by
Gothenburg’s highly acclaimed duo “Studio”. Look for the album to be released in Europe/Australia in January.
